AN AFFAIR OF THE HEART

Friday, June 17, 2005
St. Joseph's Foundation partnered with the American Heart Association to celebrate the Medical Center's 30th Anniversary of the first open-heart surgery performed in San Joaquin County.  Red tie was optional at Lodi's Hutchins Square for the 300 guests that enjoyed wine tasting, gourmet cuisine, music and auctions. Photos taken during the evening can be viewed at nicolejanes.smugmug.com.  Proceeds were evenly split between the American Heart Association and St. Joseph's Foundation to further heart healthcare.

SURVIVING BEAUTIFULLY

April 10, 2005
More than 500 people attended the 16th Annual celebration of life at the Radisson Hotel cheering on family and friends as they walked down the runway and shared their victories over cancer.  This show is unique, in that all "models" were cancer patients undergoing treatment or long-term survivors modeling positive attitudes about living.  Proceeds benefit a new support program for children whose families are affected by cancer.  Photos taken at the event can be viewed at nicolejanes.smugmug.com.  There are various opportunities to support or attend next year's event.

THE WOMEN'S CONNECTION

February 18, 2005
St. Joseph's Medical Center Foundation (South County Council) was the major sponsor of the 3rd Annual Women's Connection conference that was presented by the Manteca Convention and Visitor's Bureau at Calvary Community Church.  The conference and tradeshow highlighted health issues important to women and offered multiple break out sessions on varied subjects of interest.  The program included: keynote speaker, Kathy O'Brien of CBS' "Survivor All-Stars," fifteen breakout sessions, a brief fashion show by Dillards, and luncheon.  The cost was $50 per person.  Video recordings of the presentations are available for sale.  Proceeds provided two scholarships.
